Custom Ferrule Drilling

Some medical, sensing and imagery applications require the use of odd-size fibers. Fiber Optics For Sale Co. provides custom stainless alloy ferrule micro drilling service for these customers.

FOFS can custom drill FC and SC stainless alloy connectors ranging from 250um up to 1000um, ST and SMA style stainless alloy connectors ranging up to 1550um. (see the table below for a list of standard drill bits)

Note: Odd sizes such as 315um or 409um are not possible.

The custom ferrule drilling on stainless alloy ferrule ranges from 180um to 1900um with a tight tolerance. The following table gives you a reference on the hole size tolerances and concentricity. Contact Fiber Optics For Sale Co. for a quick quote for your special application.

The minimum order is 10 connectors. FOFS recommends that customers order a small sample batch of drilled parts to sample first for your application.
